Independent singer-songwriter, Ziggy Alberts has been awarded ARIA Platinum accreditation for his tracks Gone, Runaway, Heaven and Stronger; along with a Gold Accreditation for his 2019 single Intentions (22).
These new accreditations add to Alberts’ repertoire, joining Platinum singles Love Me Now and Laps Around The Sun and his EP, Four Feet in the Forest. Intentions (22) now sits in Gold status alongside tracks Simple Things and Days in the Sun.
In 2018, Ziggy released his fifth record ‘Laps Around The Sun’ which was premiered on Billboard Magazine and was ‘Feature Album of the Week’ on triple j. In the first week after its release, the album charted to #2 on the ARIA Australian Artist Album Charts, #6 on the ARIA Digital Album Charts and #9 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Ziggy Alberts played over 110 shows in 2019 on his ‘Laps Around The Sun World Tour’. The mammoth tour saw him travel and play to fans across Europe, United Kingdom and North America, NZ, all before returning home to Australia in December, to play his biggest headline tour to-date. Having SOLD OUT prestigious venues, Hordern Pavilion (Sydney), Fremantle Arts Centre (Fremantle), two nights at Thebarton Theatre (Adelaide), Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Melbourne), and ending at Riverstage (Brisbane), this tour leg was a major career milestone for the singer-songwriter.
